About Automotive Skills Queensland

Automotive Skills Queensland (ASQ) Ltd is a not for profit, non-government organization established to assist the training and workforce development needs of the Queensland automotive industry.  ASQ collectively represents over 10,000 members from all sectors of the automotive retail, services and repair industry.  The automotive retail, service and repair industry specifically covers aftermarket activities, which includes the sale of new and used vehicles, sale of parts and accessories, repair and maintenance of vehicles, performance enhancement and rectifying and disposal of components at the end of vehicle life for local and export markets.

The industry has wide structural diversity from small-medium enterprises, national franchises to foreign multinational corporations involved in local and export production, servicing and sales. There are 3.4 million registered vehicles in Queensland servicing most other industries in Queensland.

ASQ’s stakeholders are four peak industry associations with the support of the industry trade union. The consortium partners include the Motor Trades Association of Queensland, the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland, the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers, the Construction and Mining Equipment Industry Group, and the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union.
